Alberta’s Shameful truth on Live Horse Shipments.
Approximately 2500 live horses are shipped by air every year from the Edmonton and Calgary airports overseas to other countries for slaughter. They are crammed 2-4 horses in one crate with no room to move around and no food or water for at least 13 hours straight. Often when they land at the airports on the other end they are either deceased or in terrible condition due to stress and physical injuries. The treatment is cruel, heartbreaking and INHUMANE! Please read through the attached article to obtain more information on the realities of their transportation and treatment and to sign the petition to put an end to their suffering. This needs to stop NOW!
